I was having a very good time at a beach party. So good in fact that I had no recollection of the events that happened during the evening when I woke up. The night must have been a very successful one when I noticed that a beautiful girl was sleeping next to me. I glanced at her hand and was shocked to see a wedding ring in it. I wasn’t the one to hit on taken women. Not even when I was wasted.
I was about to get out of bed when I noticed that there was a ring in my finger too. I mean the girl looked stunning but I had no idea who she was. How had I managed to get married to her when I must have known her only hours before getting married? I really tried to jog my memory but got nowhere. That was when she woke up.
She opened her eyes. A wide smile rose on her face when she saw me “that was some wedding night king of the depths. I must admit that our union was formed quite unexpectedly but oh my how you delivered in bed last night despite being so drunk. If I had known that sex with humans could be this good, I’d have started doing it ages ago.”
I didn’t really believe my ears when she said ‘sex with humans’. I saw a mermaid tail sticking from beneath the blanket that she was apparently moving up and down playfully. I thought it was a prop used at the party. But why was she still in it? That couldn’t have been that comfortable to use. An impossible explanation popped into my mind and I moved the blanket aside.
The impossible was true. She wasn’t in a mermaid costume. She was a mermaid. I was sitting on the bed baffled by the situation I was in when she hugged me from behind and put her head on my shoulder. “Having a bit of amnesia my love? Let me help you remember”, she said as she put her arm on my head. It was like a film of yesterday’s events started running in my eyes.
Everything had gone normally until I happened to walk to a pier with a girl. I tried to make a move at her but she wasn’t interested. This mermaid had been watching me from a nearby rock the whole evening and approached me after my rejection. We talked for hours and somehow ended up talking about lifelong commitment.
I was so drunk that I agreed to marry her. She didn’t waste any time and called the subjects of her kingdom to witness our union. The sea around the pier was filled with the creatures of the sea as we placed the rings into each other’s fingers and kissed. I now watched in disbelief as she showed me how she was able to get into my hotel room. She was carried on land by a group of big crabs.

I was worried at first on how could I live underwater. Humans don’t tend to breathe seawater nor is our skin adapted to long water exposures. She had a solution ready. I wore a special wet suit and a breathing apparatus that concentrated oxygen in the seawater so that I could breathe it. We spent our nights in an air pocketed part of her palace.
Moving below the sea was a real culture shock. I had to learn the norms of the sea people but since I was married to their queen, they were very lenient when I was learning their customs. Many of them were wary but in time they accepted me as a member of their community. The life surely was way different but I actually grew very fond of my queen Ariella. In addition the sex just kept getting better as we found new tricks to try in the bedroom.
